Communicative purpose of recount text is to tell the past events for the purpose of informing or entertaining. The text use past tense, either simple past tense or past perpect. Recount text usually found within biography, personal experience, factual, imaginative and histories.

The generic stucture:

Ø Orientation              : information about an event, setting of the event (where and when), and object (who, whom).

Ø Events                    : a sequence of events that happen in chonological order. What happened? (first..., next..., soon..., eventually, etc), it consists of series of events.

Ø Reorientation           : summary of the events. What do you think, feel or decide about the events that happened?,

Language feature

The language features in recount text use the following:

1.    Noun and pronunouns instead of persons, animals, or things.

2.    Action verb.

3.    Using past tense.

4.    Conjunctions and time connectives which order events, happenig, or actions.

5.    Adverbs and adverb phrases to show location, time, and manner.

6.    Adjective to modify nouns.

1. Personal recount text tells about the writer's experience. It likes diary experience.

2. factual recount text tells about fact or an accident to inform or entertain the reader.

3. Imaginative recount text tells about unreal fact the writer or fictional account of  that event. usually the writer has perfect for creative writing to persuade the reader.

4. Procedural recount text tells real an experiment for scientist by the writer.

5. literary recount text is all about entertainment about fictional or real events, the aims this text for an interesting writing challenge.
